Uniquely beautiful and well-preserved violin by Gaetano Pollastri *1886 - 1960, Bologna 1938. Gaetano was a professional violinist himself before he learned the art of making violin from his brother Augusto and took over the business after his death. In 1930, Pollastri built a violin for Pope Pius XI. The violin is in a wonderful state of preservation and has the very best sound quality. The violin is shown in the book by Eric Blot and has the certificate from Eric Blot, Cremona.
