Sound adjustment and bow expert

Alexander Kelm is an expert in sound adjustment and bows. He has dedicated himself to violin restoration for over ten years and contributes his experience specifically to optimising the sound. After studying aerospace engineering and the violin, he has focused in particular on bows in recent years.

Dirk Metzger

Restoration and sound optimization specialist

Dirk Metzger is a specialist in restoration and sound optimization. After studying the violin, he completed his training as a violin maker and worked in a renowned master workshop for over a decade. Since 2021, he has been part of the Ulm violin making studio, where he helps musicians get the best out of their instrument.

Matthias Verheirstraeten

Expert in restoration and sound preservation

The restoration of antique instruments and the preservation of their unique sound are Matthias Verheirstraeten's great passion. After completing his master's degree in violin making in Ghent and training in Poland, he gained experience in renowned workshops across Europe. At the Ulm violin making studio since 2020, he has been managing the workshop since 2022 and ensures smooth processes. He speaks five languages and brings his international expertise to every instrument.

Willibald Buchner

Restoration and sound optimization specialist

Willilald Buchner specializes in the construction, restoration and sound optimization of stringed instruments. After training at the renowned Mittenwald violin making school, he won the gold medal at the international violin making competition in 2001. Since then, he has worked as an independent violin maker in Munich with the aim of providing musicians with the best possible sound.
